Aims and Scope

We believe that the colloquium will provide a forum for fostering dialogue among earth scientists on new developments in our knowledge of the geology of the Aegean and Anatolian regions. The Aegean area and environs contain valuable records of many geological events, and hence, the region has hosted earth scientists from around the world for at least three decades. Thus, we aim to create a scientific meeting place where earth scientists may present and discuss their results, and hope that new instrumental applications to our regional geology will also be presented and discussed. It is our desire that special sessions on specific topics are also convened during the colloquium, such as “Building and Construction Materials”, “Geohazards & Tsunami Risk in the Region“, “Geoarchaeology, Archaeometry, and Geoanthropology”, “Palaeoseismology” and “Geological Heritage”. We are also pleased to announce that selected abstracts will be published within special issues of indexed journals.
